This is the biography of the first Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's president, Azeredo Perdigão, and one of the first titles from the collection Portuguese Great Lives, published by Pato Lógico in partnership with The Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (INCM).
In this book, we talk about a Portuguese lawyor, José Henriques de Azeredo Perdigão, who had the opportunity to cross paths with an armenian millionare, with whom he established everlasting friendship bonds. That happy encounter resulted in the creation of a great Foundation, based in Lisbon, dedicated to the support of the arts, sciences, education. [...] Biographies are reminders, memory stimulae. The man goes, the work remains. We still tremble at the thought that these two men, by change or destiny, could have not meet. So we are grateful to the propicious stars that illuminated their steps in the paths of life.
