Carolina Cells graduated in Design at the University of Aveiro, has a postgraduate degree in Illustration at the University School of Design and Art (Barcelona), and completed a master’s degree in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art (London). Her work explores the detail, humor and surreal, challenging themes and conventional formats. She has participated in several projects and both national and international exhibitions. Recently, she was awarded the 2017 BIG Revelation Prize (Guimarães Illustration Biennial) and a special mention at Ilustrarte 2018.
She illustrated the book Caretos e Coretos. Tradições Populares de Portugal, a book published by Imprensa Nacional and Museu Casa da Moeda, with editorial coordination and design by Pato Lógico.
