André Letria

André Letria was born in Lisbon, in 1973, and works as an illustrator since 1992. He won several awards such as the Gulbenkian Award, the Portuguese Illustration Award, Silver and Bronze medals in the 3×3 Children’s Books Annual or an Award of Excellence for Illustration from the Society for News Design (USA). His books are published in the USA, England, Spain or Italy, among others. He has participated in international exhibitions like the Biennial of Bratislava, Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, Sarmede or Ilustrarte. He has directed animation films and created theatre set designs. He participated as a juror of the Bologna Digital Award. In 2010 he founded Pato Lógico. The book MAR, with his illustrations and text by Ricardo Henriques, won a Non Fiction mention in the Bologna Ragazzi Awards, in 2014.
